Our commitment

We believe that healthcare information should be available to everyone, regardless of ability. We work continuously to ensure that eliasderm.com meets the most current accessibility standards and remains usable on the widest possible range of devices and assistive technologies.

Conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA

This website is designed and tested to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the standard referenced under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the U.S. Department of Justice’s rule implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act for state and local government web content.

Accessibility features on this site

  • Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element on the site can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Skip-to-content link. A skip link appears as the first focusable item on every page so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass repeated navigation.
  • Semantic landmarks. Pages use HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and ARIA labels so assistive technologies can announce regions and headings clearly.
  • Color contrast. Text and essential UI components meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against their background.
  • Resizable text and zoom. Layouts remain functional at 200% zoom and adapt to user-defined text sizes.
  • Reduced motion. The site honors the operating system’s “reduce motion” preference and avoids animations that could trigger vestibular disorders.
  • Forms. All form fields have visible labels, programmatic associations, helpful descriptions, and clear error messaging.
  • Touch targets. Primary interactive controls (buttons, navigation, form fields) are at least 44×44 CSS pixels; secondary inline text links exceed the 24×24 CSS-pixel minimum required by WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8 (Target Size — Minimum).
  • Forced-colors / high-contrast mode. The site renders cleanly under Windows High Contrast and forced-colors modes.
  • Alt text. Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

How we test

Before each release, we test this site with:

  • Automated audits using axe DevTools, WAVE (WebAIM), Pa11y (WCAG2AA), Google Lighthouse, and the W3C HTML validator.
  • Manual keyboard-only navigation across every page.
  • Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
  • Browser zoom to 200% and 400% reflow testing.

Known limitations

Some third-party services we link to or embed — for example, the EMA patient portal, our Stripe bill-pay page, and the Klara secure-messaging widget — are operated by other organizations. We work with those vendors to support accessibility, but they are governed by their own accessibility statements. If you encounter a barrier on a third-party service, please contact us and we will help you complete your task by phone, email, or in person.

Feedback & contact

If you encounter any accessibility barrier on our website, or if you need information in an alternative format, please let us know. We aim to respond to all accessibility feedback within five business days.

We respect your privacy. This website does not knowingly collect personal information from visitors without their consent.
